Onionskin mode is just wahat is available in almost every drawn/2D animation software out there. psd, or by going over layer visibiity(the dot or eye next to the layer) in Normal Mode and then just flicking through the layers.Īnd!!! if you are in onionskin mode and have finished drawing your animation, you can now export the layers as separate frames from File>Export Layers (Onion Skin Mode) to compile them via another software, like windows moviemaker or pencil2D or plastic animation paper, or whatever else you have that exports to film formats or gif. Preview from View>Autoplay, does not have a shortcut sadly, but that’s okay, I’ve actually been animating in FA before so that I would preview the layers as. This mimics the way you would animate on a light-table, (Cause you can mostly just see the previous frame you’ve drawn) the difference being in the digital attributes and functions like: Most animation programs have it set so that the previous layer is red and the next is green and that’s the way they’ve done it in Firealpaca as well. It’s a mode you can access via View>Onionskin Mode(or even better, assign your own shortcut key from File>Shortcut settings) that allows you to view your layers as frames in a similar way as when you are using an animation program.
